This position is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and well-functioning environment inside and outside for young children, staff, and families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>&nbsp;Indoor Custodial Duties<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Clean and sanitize classrooms, restrooms, kitchens, and common areas daily.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sweep, mop, vacuum, and\/or scrub floors.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Empty trash and recycling bins and dispose of waste safely.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wash windows and interior glass as needed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Restock paper products, soap, and other supplies.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Deep-clean during school breaks or closures.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Groundskeeping Duties<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mow lawns, trim bushes, and remove weeds regularly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rake leaves and remove debris from play areas, sidewalks, and parking lots.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain playgrounds to ensure safety (e.g., remove hazards, refill mulch or sand).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Water plants and manage basic landscaping needs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Re-keys locks and makes replacement keys as directed by supervisor.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Building &amp; Services Assistance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assist with basic repairs (changing light bulbs, fixing minor leaks, tightening fixtures).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Set up and break down rooms for meetings, parent events, or classroom rearrangement.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Report building damage or maintenance needs to supervisor.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assist maintenance personnel or contractors as needed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Perform periodic and quarterly site\/playground inspections.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure facility compliance with State and Federal licensing and local\/State\/Federal requirements by checking equipment and making adjustments\/repairs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>QUALIFICATIONS:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.&nbsp; The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and\/or ability required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Education and\/or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Minimum one year experience in custodial and maintenance.<br>\u2022 Knowledge of cleaning techniques and use of janitorial equipment.<br>\u2022 Complete employer required trainings.<br>\u2022 Ability to lift up to 80 pounds and walk, stand, bend, kneel, and stoop frequently<br>\u2022 Good balance to work at elevations above six feet.<br>\u2022 Valid California Driver\u2019s license.<br>\u2022 Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with fellow employees, teachers, childcare providers, outside contractors and the general public.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Recruitment Type:&nbsp;Open until filled Program:&nbsp;RISE VallejoSupervisor:&nbsp;RISE Vallejo Site Manager To read the complete job description, click the link:\u00a0RISE Vallejo Facilities Maintenance &amp; Grounds Keeper Send resume to Esmeralda Salinas at&nbsp;esalinas@childstartinc.org GENERAL SUMMARY: We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Facilities Maintenance &amp; Grounds Keeper to join our team at our Vallejo Rise Early Learning Center.
