Early Start

A girl smilingThe Early Head Start programs provide comprehensive services to pregnant women, infants, and toddlers aged zero – 3.  Early Head Start promotes healthy prenatal outcomes for pregnant women and enhances the development of very young children within nurturing caregiver/ child relationships by responding to the unique strengths and needs of individual families and their young children, through the use of quality early education in and out of the home, parenting education, health and mental health services, and family support services.

Early Head Start serves sixty-four families in both Napa and Solano counties through a variety of partnerships with agencies serving similar populations. The Therapeutic Child Care Center in Napa serves families in a center based, infant mental health mode. Child Start collaborates with Healthy Moms and Babies to provide home base services to 12 families in Napa; and in partnership with Black Infant Health to provide services for 24 families in Vallejo; as well as a partnership with Child Haven to serve 12 families in Fairfield.
