Children
- Design a program which meets each child’s unique and diverse needs.
- Provide an environment which nurtures physical and emotional safety and fosters intrinsic

- Provide opportunities that allow each child to pursue full potential emotionally, socially,
physically, and intellectually.
- Deliver prevention and intervention services that prepare children and families for a
successful transition into kindergarten.
- Create high-quality learning experiences which foster understanding and value of the
richness of cultural diversity.
Family
- Create and maintain a partnership that builds on strengths and supports families as the primary educators, nurturers and advocates for their children.
- Assist with the expressed needs and interests of each family through an ongoing process
of needs assessment, goal setting and support.
- Nurture a relationship of dignity and respect with each family of children with disabilities. Community
Communicate the needs of Head Start families through collaborative community efforts.
- Advocate for seamless community services to effectively meet the needs of children and families.
- Train and support families in community organization and political action in order to
better promote self-sufficiency both individually and collectively.
